We read an article the other day over at IMediaConnection about ads being associated with inappropriate content. You can read it here. When we finished reading, we sighed in relief because we knew that our advertisers wouldn't be affected by that problem. We've worked to develop an ad network that was transparent and safe for brands, but didn't require our advertisers to spend hours sorting through websites and options. Here's how we do it.

First of all, we have strict acceptance standards. This is a brand-safe network. There are no adult sites in our network, no parked domains in our network, no random blogs from a teenager who writes in his bathrobe during the ride to school, no automated turnkey sites. Everything in our network is handpicked and thoroughly vetted for value. All of our websites are picked for their content value and reach.

We do work with multiple partner networks and the AdECN ad exchange. What if these sites aren't as safe for your brand? Don't worry. Our simple content tolerance system prevents any inappropriate associations with your brand across tens of thousands of websites. You rate the content of your ad and the types of sensitive content that you're willing to tolerate on a website that your ad will show on. Our publishers rate their web pages and specify the kinds of ads that they are willing to have on their site. We review everything to make sure that the ratings are acccurate. Then, we flip the switch and everything starts running.

OK, I’ll acknowledge it. Despite everything that I’ve said, this system only works 99.9% of the time. And that isn’t good enough. So, we’ve introduced a third layer of protection. Real people (Gasp!) will check on everything to make sure placements are appropriate. And, you’ll be able to exclude any site or placement that you want from your rotation within your control panel with a few clicks. This doesn’t happen often, but the option is there if you need it. By the converse, we offer site targeting that will allow you to select individual sites to place your ad on. That's what we call transparency.
