It will analyze a web page and determine the content using advanced MT semantics techniques. It will approximate a visitor's age, gender, income, and other personal information. It will cross-reference all this data with a database of millions of ads to determine which ad/product will most interest the user. Then, it will send the appropriate advertisement to the publishers webpage. All this happens in 12 ms. Not bad for an ad network, huh?
